Norman A. Brooks, M.D. is a dermatologist, skin cancer specialist and medical director of the Skin Cancer Medical Center in Encino, California. An assistant clinical professor at UCLA Medical Center, Dr. Brooks is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology with special competence in dermatopathology, and board eligible American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Brooks has undergone extensive training in Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery as well as other forms of treatment for skin malignancies. He is board certified in the specialty of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. Dr. Brooks was graduated from the University of Colorado, Denver, with Doctor of Medicine cum laude. He served his internship at the University of Colorado and in dermatology at UCLA. He has done post-graduate work in micrographic surgery and dermatopathology. Dr. Brooks served as Major, United States Air Force. Dr. Brooks’ hospital affiliations …include UCLA Hospitals and Clinics; and Encino-Tarzana Medical Center. His awards and honors include president, San Fernando Valley Dermatologic Society; Outstanding Teaching Award, General Internal Medicine Program, UCLA, Diplomate, National Board of Medical Examiners, President’s Award, University of Colorado. His work in fields of medicine and micrographic surgery have been noted in medical journals world-wide, including Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology and the New England Journal of Medicine.
