Working together to explore what is happening in your world, mind, and emotional system, we will fairly quickly make sense of the natural processes that have led to your anxiety, and how to make them work for you rather than against you. I’ll help you develop these skills at your own pace, so that when you feel ready we can move from weekly sessions to my simply being on call whenever you need me. This can almost always be accomplished within 6-12 sessions, and my sessions are a full 60-minute hour. Rather than a paid-friend, my role is more that of a knowledgeable, caring and fully committed coach. My greatest satisfaction comes from freeing people from the burden of anxiety so they can enjoy their lives in peace. While I am quite confident of my therapeutic skills, I will always be open to, and occasionally request, your feedback as to how I can better fit your own particular needs and circumstances. I’ve specialized in treating anxiety for over 30 years, and as a Visiting …Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Science at the University of Virginia, I am developing free online resources to improve existing methods of treating all forms of anxiety. And I look forward to meeting you!
