Dr. Paul Richard Williamson, MD

Paul R. Williamson, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery as well as the American Board of Surgery. He serves as an assistant director for the colon and rectal residency program at Orlando Health and also serves as the chairman in the Department of Surgery. He is section leader for surgical oncology in the department of colon and rectal surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando. Dr Williamson earned his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine and completed a general surgery residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident. He completed a clinical residency fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at the Carle Clinic Foundation in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. He serves as a clinical assistant professor for the department of clinical sciences at Florida State University College of Medicine and a clinical assistant for both the …University of South Florida College of Medicine and the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Williamson’s special interests include treatment of rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, hepatic surgery, anal reconstruction for traumatic and idiopathic incontinence and cryosurgical ablation of hepatic neoplasms. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Disease of the Colon and Rectum. He has presented at numerous national and international meetings, including the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery and the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Williamson is currently a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
