Dr. Prashant Soni, MD

Dr. Soni began his journey of becoming a physician when he chose to major in literature as an undergraduate. This period of study gave him insight into the human condition and taught him more about being a compassionate doctor than all the years of training ahead.
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from NYU, he chose to become a plastic surgeon because it melded his innate artistic abilities with a desire to improve the quality of life for others. He went on to receive his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. After completing a 5-year general surgery residency at New York Medical College, he then went on to complete a 2-year residency in plastic surgery at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City.
He is among a small number of plastic surgeons that is double board certified in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Surgical Specialties. His background in cancer and trauma surgery gives him the …experience and confidence to perform the entire spectrum of plastic and reconstructive procedures. This has fostered a close relationship with other surgeons in his community who look to him to restore form and function to their own patients. This is most prevalent within his specialized area of breast reconstruction. . He is the breast reconstruction specialist member of the nationally accredited Breast Center, at Danbury Hospital/Western Connecticut Health Network.
Following completion of his plastic surgery fellowship, he was selected as the one plastic surgeon to complete a 1-year advanced cosmetic surgery fellowship at the famous Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital (MEETH) in NYC. These two institutions are internationally renowned for their contribution to the field of cosmetic surgery. For this he was awarded the certificate of Advanced Education in Cosmetic Surgery endorsed by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. In 2015 ,he was named as a “Top Doc” for the state of Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine.
As a specialist in cosmetic facial and body rejuvenation, Dr. Soni understands the confusion that patients face in trying to decide what is best for them in this highly commercialized world. Dr. Soni and his team at Advanced Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery, strive to educate his patients about what is safe and effective.
