Dr. Rene S. Rodriguez-Sains, MD

Dr. Rodriguez-Sains, MD, FACS is a nationally and internationally renowned Ophthalmologist and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon. He grew up in New York City, received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and did his Internship at NYU/Bellevue. His Residency in Ophthalmology and Fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery were at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and Cornell University Medical Center.
He had an active private practice in NYC for 33 years and practiced and taught at NYU Medical Center, Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He has given 180 lectures worldwide, has 60 refereed publications, books, and book chapters and an additional 23 abstracts and non-refereed publications. He has collaborated with the American Academy of Ophthalmology in their Eye Care America Program and participated in and was featured in visual media produced by the Academy for that program.
He has been featured in popular print and …TV media discussing eyelid and eye care, sun protection and the prevention of skin cancer, cosmetic and functional surgery of the lids and upper face. For over 25 years he was recognized as a Top Doctor in NY.
His hobbies include music, photography, drawing and painting. Some of his work has been exhibited and sold at charity auctions. He enjoys travel, cooking, sports, theaters, and museums.
