Robert A. Kayal, MD is the founder, president and CEO of Kayal Orthopaedic Center, PC. Dr. Kayal was raised in Bergen County, NJ, and attended the Ramapo-Regional High School in Franklin Lakes, NJ. He subsequently enrolled at Pennsylvania State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine. Immediately afterward, he began medical school, earning his MD from UMDNJ-NJMS in 1994. Robert A. Kayal, MD was trained in the NY-Metropolitan region and has received AOA Honors. He is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, as well as an active member of the New Jersey Orthopaedic Society, Orthopaedic Surgeons of New Jersey, Bergen County Medical Society and the American Medical Association. Dr. Kayal enjoys privileges at renowned hospitals in Bergen County and serves on the medical staff at both The Valley Hospital and Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Kayal has expertise in the following areas of orthopedic surgery: minimally invasive surgery, computer-assisted navigation technology for joint replacement surgery, gender-specific knee replacement implants designed specifically for men and women, high-flexion knee replacement implants designed to bend 155 degrees, partial (unicompartmental) knee replacements, hip arthroscopy, cartilage transplantation, platelet rich plasma injection therapy, bone density testing, and the treatment of osteoporosis and osteopenia. Robert A. Kayal, MD is the regional pioneer of the partial knee and the patellofemoral knee replacement technology, and has been performing these procedures for years.
