Dr. Robert Beard Ecker, MD

Dr. Ecker began his medical education as a Biochemistry major at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He worked for nearly a decade as a research scientist. The primary focus of his expertise was pharmaceutical product support as well as multiple processes of biochemical screening for Panlabs, Inc. and AXYS Pharmaceuticals. He earned his medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. As a student there he was given the George F. Odland Scholar Award, an academic endowment presented by the University Department of Dermatology and the Herzog Foundation.
Dr. Ecker attended the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, where he completed his internship in internal medicine. He relocated to Wisconsin to serve his three-year dermatology residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Department of Dermatology, acting as Chief Resident in his final year. He worked in private practice in Tennessee and was appointed Clinical Instructor at the …University of Tennessee, Chattanooga Department of Medicine before joining Advanced Dermatology.
As an associate at Advanced Dermatology, Dr. Ecker provides a full range of medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, with special expertise in dermatologic laser treatments. He has a special touch with children, and has enjoyed having a large number of them as his patients. He is board certified in dermatology and is a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
A musician and avid music fan, Dr. Ecker plays guitar and banjo and performs in musical theater when he gets the opportunity. He enjoys gourmet cooking, and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Asia with his wife.
