Board certified in cardiovascular diseases, nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular CT, Dr. Robert Saad has been with Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio since 2002.
After graduating from University of California at Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry, Dr. Saad received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. After completing an internship and residency in Family Practice at USAF Regional Hospital at Carswell Air Force Base in Texas, he subsequently completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at USAF Medical Center at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. He pursued his cardiology fellowship at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. Dr. Saad completed his echocardiography fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine/The Methodist Hospital in Houston Texas.
Dr. Saad held a number of positions …including Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at Wilford Hall, Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program and, later, Chief of Cardiology, Chief of Cardiopulmonary Medicine and Director of the Cardiology Noninvasive Laboratory at Wilford Hall Medical Center.
From 1999 to 2002 he served as Chief Consultant to the USAF Surgeon General for Cardiovascular Disease.
While in private practice from 2002 to 2012, Dr. Saad has been the Medical Director of the Coronary Care Unit, Medical Director of Telemetry, Vice-Chief of Cardiology, Chairman of the Cardiology Clinical Review Committee, Chief of Cardiology, Secretary at large for Methodist Hospital, a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Methodist Hospital, a member of the Medical Board for Methodist Healthcare System, and Medical Director for Inpatient Cardiology Services at Methodist Hospital.
