Robert McMillan, MD, FACS, graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and went to University of Virginia Medical Center and Louisiana State University Medical Center Shreveport for his residencies. He pursued a fellowship in renal transplantation at Louisiana State University Medical Center Shreveport and another fellowship in liver transplantation at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
He is certified by the American Board of Surgery in both surgery and surgical critical care. In addition to his transplant work at the John C. McDonald Regional Transplant Center at Willis-Knighton Medical Center, Dr. McMillan has been a professor of surgery at LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport.
His affiliations include Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. He is a member of the Louisiana State Medical and Louisiana State Surgical Societies.
Dr. McMillan has published numerous articles on various aspects of organ …transplant medicine in such publications as “Transplant Proceedings” and “American Journal of Transplantation.” He has made many presentations to doctors and surgeons throughout the United States on his work in kidney and liver transplantation.
