Dr. Robert J. Cubeddu is a board certified Interventional Cardiologist and one of the few to hold a subspecialty in “Structural and Adult Congenital Heart Disease”. Dr. Cubeddu comlpleted his fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Harvard Medical School, and is currently the Medical Director of the Structural and Congenital Heart Disease program at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. His skill set and expertise is unique; Dr. Cubeddu uses innovative minimally invasive catheter-based techniques to treat multiple heart conditions and prevent patients the need for conventional open-heart surgery. In other words, he is able to repair or replace heart valves and multiple other heart defects through the use of long tunnel catheters, similar to regular heart catheterization. Dr Cubeddu has additionally a special interest in stroke patients, and has pioneered the stroke prevention interventional program at Aventura Hospital
