Dr. Maynard grew up in Philadelphia and completed his undergraduate degree at Penn State University. He attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Maynard performed his residency in pediatrics and his fellowships in neonatology and pediatric pulmonology at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Maynard is board-certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics in general pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology and neonatology. Dr. Maynard completed three years of service in the Indian Health Service facility at Pine Ridge, South Dakota as a general pediatrician prior to pursuing subspecialty training. His background in neonatology has contributed to special interests in bronchopulmonary dysplasia and congenital malformations of the lung. Since 1989, Dr. Maynard served as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. He also practiced as a Neonatolologist with the Neonatology P.A. at Children’s Hospital and …Clinics of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He recently retired from the Neonatology P.A. to become the pediatric Home Services Medical Director. Dr. Maynard and his wife, Jeanne, have 2 children and reside in Eden Prairie. In his leisure time he enjoys fly fishing and building and flying radio controlled airplanes.
