Dr. Ruby Alice Skinner, MD

Dr. Ruby Skinner joined the surgical faculty at Kern Medical Center in 2009 and is currently Chief of the Trauma Division and Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Prior to her employment with KMC, Dr. Skinner was in private practice in Los Angeles where she specialized in trauma, surgical critical care and acute care general surgery. She also served on the surgical faculty at Northwestern University in Chicago for three years following her fellowship training in trauma and surgical critical care at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research and clinical interests include: surgical strategies for complex abdominal hernia and wound management, surgical nutrition in critical illness and cost containment in critical care practices.
