Dr. Patel graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Structural Biology in 1997, and he received his MD from Rush Medical College in 2001. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in 2004, and he remained at Rush University Medical Center to serve as Chief resident for 2005. He then moved to New Orleans and completed his Cardiology fellowship at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans in 2008. He remained to pursue advanced sub-specialty training in Interventional Cardiology and Peripheral Vascular Intervention which he completed in 2010.
Dr. Patel joined the Cardiovascular Institute of Northwest Florida in 2010, and his presence has already been recognized by those of us in the practice, our patients and the community. Most importantly he has bolstered our growing need in percutaneous complex coronary interventions and especially in peripheral vascular intervention. Dr. Patel is …board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease with added qualifications in Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular Medicine. He is also board certified in Nuclear Cardiology and is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation. He is a fellow in both the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. His clinical interests are in general cardiology with special emphasis in complex coronary and peripheral interventions, neurovascular angiography and intervention (Carotid stents) as well as structural heart disease including repair of atrial septal defects (ASD) and patent foramen ovale (PFO).
