Dr. Seymour H. Block, DO

Seymour H. Block, D.O., maintains a general adult psychiatric practice with an emphasis on forensic psychiatry in Great Neck, NY. Since 2000, Dr. Block has served as Co-Director of the Division of Psychiatry at St. Francis Hospital. He has held a number of psychiatric clinical and administrative positions, among them Unit Chief at Hillside Day Hospital and Director of the Residency Training Unit at the Queens Hospital Center Affiliation of Long Island Jewish Hillside Medical Center. As a consultant for the Forensic Services Section of Nassau County for eleven years, he provided psychiatric evaluation in child custody and visitation cases. His academic appointments include: Clinical Assistant Professor at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine; Psychotherapy Supervisor at Long Island Jewish Hillside Hospital and North Shore University. Dr. Block lectures extensively on domestic violence and post-traumatic stress disorder.
