Dr. Stace S. Rust, MD

Dr. Stace’ Rust was raised in the Texas hill country and is a long time resident of San Antonio. After completing her degree in Biochemistry from the University of Texas in Austin, she married her high school sweetheart and supported his career as a United States Air Force F-15C fighter pilot. Together, they enjoyed many different assignments while living aboard as her husband participated in Operations Desert Storm, Southern Watch, and Enduring Freedom. She also helped activate the 435th Fighter Training Squadron at Randolph AFB when her husband became its squadron commander.
As their two children matured, Stace’ elected to follow her dream of becoming a physician. Upon graduating from medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, she completed an Orthopaedic residency there, followed by a hand surgery fellowship in the Hand Center of San Antonio. During her fellowship, Dr. Rust spent additional time devoted to congenital upper extremity problems at …the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas. She joined the Hand Center staff in 2005 as the designated subspecialist in congenital problems. Dr. Rust is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Rust enjoys horseback riding, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family. She and her husband have two children, Stephen and Kathleen.
