Dr. Stephen Monroe Cyphers, MD

Dr. Cyphers has been practicing medicine in the Placerville area since 1987 when he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Loma Linda University and then joined the medical staff at Marshall Medical. In the summer of 1988 he traveled to Seattle and completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Washington under Dr. Sigvard Hansen. He currently is associated in practice with fellow orthopedic surgeons Christopher Molitor MD, and W. Taylor Vance MD, T.Dickson MD and A. Boody MD.
Dr. Cyphers focuses on providing state-of-the-art orthopedic care to all of his patients, and therefore considers continuing medical education and training to be of utmost importance. Of equal importance to him is communication with his patients. He often tells patients, “It is my job to educate my patients about their diagnosis and treatment options so that theyre able to make informed decisions.” Through this approach, patients are more comfortable with their care, and take …a more active role in their recovery.
Dr. Cyphers practice includes general orthopedics, excluding spine. He has special interests in foot and ankle problems, total joint replacement, and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, and ankle.
