Dr. Magro grew up in Tennessee and completed medical school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He then moved to Charleston and completed a four year residency in Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina. At MUSC, Dr. Magro became interested in addictions and completed a research track, being mentored by some of the foremost addiction specialists in the world. After residency, he completed at one-year fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at MUSC. He joined Barrier Islands Psychiatry in 2013.
