Dr. Ulrike Hedwig Ziegner, MD, PhD

Born and raised in Germany, Dr. Ziegner came to Philadelphia to pursue basic research projects in Immunology at the Wistar Institute and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, supported by DFG and AmFAR scholarships. She published numerous articles in major medical journals and gave presentations at international medical congresses about her research data. After passing the US Medical Boards for foreign graduates, becoming board certified in both, Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology, and giving birth to twin daughters, Dr. Ziegner worked as a part time allergist in renowned private allergy clinics in West LA and the South Bay. In 2003, Dr. Ziegner opened her own practice in Allergy/Immunology, the Riviera Allergy Medical Center, in South Redondo Beach. With her broad background in internal as well as pediatric medicine, she cares for patients of all ages with asthma, allergies and immunologic issues. Her practice is open 6 days a week and is fully Electronic Medical Records functional. …The office has very caring staff and a warm and kids’ friendly environment. In addition to doing clinical research, Dr. Ziegner has a teaching appointment at Harbor UCLA. Dr. Ziegner, her husband and daughters enjoy living in the South Bay.
