Dr. William Anthony Purtill, MD

I am Board certified in Vascular Surgery and a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons (FACS). I have been appointed as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery SUNY at Stony Brook. I am a member of The Society for Vascular Surgery, The Eastern Vascular Society, The Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society and The Society for Vascular Technology. I am also a qualified Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), which means I can perform and interpret non-invasive tests.
I was born in Limerick, Ireland and went to medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. I moved to the United States in 1990 and trained at John Hopkins Hospital and SUNY Stony Brook. I completed my fellowship training in Vascular Surgery in 1997 at the University of Maryland and have 14 years experience as a Vascular Surgeon.
