Welcome to my Web page. My name is Afshin Khatibi. I am a gastroenterologist and have been in practice since 1998. I worked with a private practice group from 1998 to 2001. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2001.
Biography
I was born in Tehran, Iran, but left at a young age. I lived in Birmingham, England for one year before moving to the United States at age 11. I have lived in the San Fernando Valley most of my life.
About my practice
A large part of my practice includes performing colonoscopy mostly for colorectal cancer screening. I am very proud of what my department has been able to accomplish over the past several years in achieving our screening goals.
How I thrive
I recognize it is difficult, but I try to exercise 3 to 4 times per week. I particularly enjoy working out with weights. I include vegetables and fruits in my diet as much as I can, but do admit to enjoying dark chocolate.
