Dr. Ahmed Akl is a specialist in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS/Urogynecology). Dr. Akl is Board Certified and completed four years of residency training in general Obstetrics and Gynecology at Michigan State University followed by three additional years of fellowship training in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS/Urogynecology) completed at Loyola University in Chicago, one of the best training programs in FPMRS/Urogynecology nationwide and considered one of the leading institutions in pelvic floor research around the world.
Dr. A. Akl is also interested in teaching and research. He received numerous awards including the outstanding resident educators’ award three years in a row, best research in Ob/Gyn award and the American Urogynecology Society Resident Award. Dr. Akl presented multiple presentations at national and international scientific society meetings and served as a proctor for the American Urogynecology Society (AUGS) and …the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA) annual scientific meetings. In his free time Dr. Akl likes working out, international travel, hiking, kayaking and going on enduro motorcycle trips.
