Dr. Safayan started his medical training in Southeast Asia and completed it through Indiana University Medical School in 1986. He completed his internship in New York City and his residency in Internal Medicine in Washington, DC. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been a primary care provider since 1990.
Dr. Ali Safayan is also the preceptor in charge of the HMI/UCLA Medical Acupuncture Course for Physicians, which trains over 300 physicians a year. A founder of one of the first integrative medicine practices in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area, Dr. Safayan incorporates the best of conventional medicine with complementary therapies such as medical acupuncture, allergy elimination technique, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and prolotherapy (injection therapy for treating chronic pain).
