Dr. Cheryl Hodges is a board-certified general adult psychiatrist who has been in practice since 2008. In addition to formal Medical and Psychiatric training, she has completed additional training in Psychopharmacology and Repetitive T.M.S. (transcranial magnetic stimulation). She utilizes a combination of psychiatric medication and psychotherapy, providing a comprehensive treatment approach.New Patient Evaluation At the initial visit, Dr. Hodges does a comprehensive psychiatric assessment and examination which is followed by a diagnostic formulation and her treatment recommendations. This visit is approximately 50 minutes in duration.Follow-up/Medication Management VisitsThe patient is seen for follow-up visits as often as needed. At follow up visits, an interval history taken which includes progress in treatment, change in symptoms, and medication review. Medication management is provided at the follow up visits. These visits are typically 25 minutes in duration.Psychotherapy …AppointmentsDr. Hodges believes that for most individuals, ongoing psychotherapy or talk therapy is an important part of the comprehensive psychiatric treatment plan. She provides ongoing psychoeducation, supportive psychotherapy, and short-term goal-oriented therapy. She utilizes therapeutic interventions from these and other psychotherapy modalities. These visits are typically 50 minutes in duration.Dr. Hodges provides evidence-based recommendations and a comprehensive treatment plan, which is tailored to each individual but is also consistent with the current Best Practices Standard of Care. Thoughtful consideration of each person’s unique differences and needs, concurrent medical issues, personal preferences, and other factors go into making the individualized treatment plan which is a collaborative effort between the patient and Dr. HodMany psychiatric disorders wax and wane, or are chronic in nature. Other psychiatric disorders are short-term or time-limited in nature. Dr. Hodges provides ongoing psychiatric care and management to each individual for as long as is indicated. Patients may be discharged from psychiatric treatment, and later may resume treatment if symptoms re-emerge, change, or worsen. In order to provide a most complete and comprehensive treatment plan, Dr. Hodges may collaborate with the patient’s other medical providers, when it is possible, necessary and indicated. We do not however share any information with any other person, provider or institution except with the express written consent of the patient, as per the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) Federal Laws which protects privacy of patient health information.
