A Boston native, Dr. Paterson graduated from Boston University and completed medical school at George Washington University. Following residency in Internal Medicine at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, he served in the army for 10 years, achieving the rank of major. Dr. Paterson joined Guilford Medical in 1998. He previously served as a medical director at Moses Cone Extended Care and currently serves as medical director for Clapps Nursing Center.
Dr. Paterson is married and has three children. He enjoys baseball, tennis and tae kwon do, where he has achieved second degree black belt status.
