Derek K. Johnson, MD is from Seat Pleasant, MD, a town that shares a border with Washington, D.C. He attended the University of Pittsburgh-School of Medicine and graduated in 1995. Dr. Johnson completed his National Capital Consortium Pediatric Residency at the Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Johnson was a U.S. Army physician until June 2001, then began civilian life as a board certified pediatrician. In 2013, he became certified as a concussion specialist. He practices at The Center for Pediatric Excellence, PLLC and The Derek Johnson, M.D. Concussion Clinic, PLLC. He is on staff at St. Thomas Hospital-Rutherford and StoneCrest Hospital. Dr. Johnson is also a Concussion Consultant with the MTSU football team. Dr. Johnson loves spending time with his family, sports, movies, community service, motorcycling, gardening, travel, and the fine …arts.
