Donald R. Varner, Jr., M.D. received his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine and, subsequently, did an internship in internal medicine at Shands Teaching Hospital at the University of Florida, Gainesville. This was followed by an internal medicine residency at the U.S. Air Force Medical Center, Keesler Air Force Base. He then received fellowship training in gastroenterology at Wilford Hall, USAF Medical Center. Dr. Varner is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He was recertified in Gastroenterology in 2003.
