Dr. Jason E. Lowenstein is a board-certified, fellowship-trained Adult and Pediatric Spine Surgeon. He specializes in the treatment of Spinal Deformities, such as Scoliosis, Kyphosis, and Spondylolisthesis, Cervical and Lumbar Disc Herniations and Stenosis, Complex Revision Surgery for Failed Back Syndrome, and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor, honored by Inside Jersey Magazine as Top Doctor and Top Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon, and received the NJ’s Favorite Kids Doc Award by New Jersey Family Magazine. He is an active member of the Scoliosis Research Society, the North American Spine Society, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Committed to a conservative approach to the treatment of spinal pathology, Dr. Lowenstein strives to offer a balanced treatment regimen for his patients.
Dr. Lowenstein graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania where he studied neuroscience and was honored as a Dean’s …List Scholar. He received his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where he worked in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery’s Growth and Development laboratory, performing gene therapy research for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. Following medical school, Dr. Lowenstein performed his orthopedic surgery residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital / Columbia University Medical Center. There, he conducted research in the treatment of spinal deformities, such as scoliosis and spondylolisthesis. Dr. Lowenstein then completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the Emory Spine Center / Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He currently practices at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ, and Saint Barnabas Medical Center, in Livingston, NJ.
