Dr. Schulman joined the Inova Fairfax Hospital team in July 2007, after completing an orthopedic grammatology fellowship at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Previous posts include an orthopedic surgery residency at George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Schulman earned a bachelor of science degree at Duke University and his medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Schulman is assistant professor of orthopedics at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, a member of the teaching faculty for AO North America, and has lectured at numerous orthopedic courses for residents as well as practicing surgeons. He also has served as the chairman for the operating room personnel course. He is actively involved in medical education of students and residents and currently serves as the orthopedic residency site director for Inova Fairfax Hospital. Dr. Schulman is involved in ongoing clinical research …and has published on both osteoporosis interventions and clinical outcomes in pelvic fractures. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery, a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the Orthopedic Trauma Association.
