I was born and raised in South Minneapolis, the last of five children. I am the youngest of a set of fraternal twin girls. My desire has alwasy been to serve my community and my first thought was to become a police officer. These thoughts changed into wanting to be a doctor. My mother was a nurse and my brother is a doctor. I went to the University of Wisconsin in Madison and received a BS in Zoology. I went onto Mayo Medical School in Rochester and fell in love with my rotations in Internal Medicine. I wanted to be a generalist treating adults at all ages. My interest is in Endocrinology and I have been a lecturer in this for the Physician Assistant School of Emory University, School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia. I was Assistant Professor in the Division of Family and Preventive Medicine at Emory. My greatest satisfying experiences in medicine have been in living, practicing medicine, and teaching in a free general hospital for the poor in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for over five years. I …am very interested in advancing understanding and commitment to the practice of International Medicine, so I am excited to be at the Midway Clinic.
