Dr. Jhansi Lakshmi Koduri, MD

Born in India, Dr. Koduri attended medical school at Rangaraya Medical College in her home country. She continued her education in the United States with a residency in internal medicine (serving for a year as chief resident) and a fellowship in hematology and oncology, both at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. In her current practice at Hematology and Oncology of Dayton, she treats all types of cancers, but specializes in female-related diseases (breast ovarian, uterine and cervical cancers).
A lack of adequate oncology care in India combined with a family member’s battle with cancer pulled Dr. Koduri toward this field. Among her priorities is getting to know new patients beyond their medical condition so that she can factor individual background, lifestyle and goals into each treatment plan. With her highly personalized approach, she places great importance on friends and family of her patients and their invaluable support-an element she holds in such high regard that, at …the patient’s request, she’ll call a friend or family member with updates.
