Dr. John Bruce Abell, MD

Greetings from John B. Abell M.D. I started practice in 1991 and have over 20 years of experience in Internal Medicine. I graduated from University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1988 and then completed a 3 year residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University in 1991. I have been in private practice since that time. Internal medicine is the specialization of treatment of chronic non-surgical diseases in adults. In addition, I became interested in complimentary medicine having been introduced to it by one of my patients in 2006. I have gone to pursue and am board certified in Anti-Aging Regenerative and Functional Medicine by the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine in 2008. Additionally, I am currently studying for certification in Functional Medicine by the Institure for Functional medicine. These fields include treatment of homonal deficiencies of aging, but much more broadly, addressing complex chronic diseases by tying to address the underlying core problems causing …disease, therefore treating those defects in an attempt to restore health. This is brought a new satisfaction to my approach to medicine and to health of my patients! I have an interest in metabolic and nutritional medicine, and have had introductory courses in herbology and homeopathy. I am skilled in the use and prescribing of Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. Also offered are Neutraceutical grade vitamins, herbs, homeopathic regimens for purchase in the office and on line.
