Dr. John Eklund, MD

A native of the Chicagoland area, Dr. Eklund received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Urbana, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He then went on to Northwestern where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship training in Hematology and Medical Oncology. He was a 2004 recipient of the Woman’s Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital Compassionate Care Award, and believes that compassion is the central component of quality patient management. Dr. Eklund joined Cancer Care and Hematology Specialists of Chicagoland in 2005. He enjoys time away from work with his wife Jennifer.
