Dr Kelley M. Cornell has been a member of Middlesex Surgical Associates since 1999. Her major interests include Women’s health and endocrine surgery. She also sees vascular surgery patients on a select basis in conjunction with Drs Naylor and Breckwoldt. As the surgical director of the Winchester Hospital Breast Care Center, she has expertise in breast cancer care, including high risk screening and prevention, breast conservation and partial breast irradiation. She has a broad experience with surgery for thyroid and parathyroid disease and, with Dr Brophy, endocrine diseases of the adrenal glands, pancreas and gastro-intestinal tract. She also is involved with major cancer surgical resections with Drs Brophy and Fuller (GYN Oncology). As one of the general surgeons in the practice, she performs all of the usual procedures such as surgery for skin and soft tissue lesions, hernias, gallbladder and colorectal diseases and select laparoscopic procedures.
Dr Cornell is a 1991 graduate of …the University of Kansas Medical School. She received her surgical training with the United States Air Force and completed her training as a Chief Resident and Vascular Surgery Fellow at the University of Kansas. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with an added certification in Vascular Surgery. She is a member of the speaker’s bureau for Myriad Genetics, discussing breast cancer genetics with various audiences. She is a Clinical Instructor in Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine.
