A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dr Lynn Granlund fondly recalls her great-grandmother encouraging her to pursue a medical career so when she grew up, she could take care of her. Granlund followed her great-grandmother’s advice and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in psychology and a medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She completed internship and residency at the University of Texas in San Antonio and trained in acupuncture at a UCLA extension program for physicians.
Board-certified in internal medicine and a member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, Dr. Granlund’s style of practice focuses on wellness and preventive medicine. “I encourage lifestyles that keep people active and healthy. This involves paying attention to issues such as diet and exercise. I am also interested in integrating traditional medicine with alternative therapies such as acupuncture and massage therapy.”
An avid world traveler, Dr Granlund has …visited Africa, Europe, Thailand, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico and Australia. She has worked as a medical volunteer in Peru and Kathmandu, Nepal. Besides travel, Dr Granlund enjoys photography, biking, yoga and tai-chi.
