Dr. Yamane was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Los Angeles, California. His undergraduate training was at UCLA where he was awarded the Regents Scholarship (the highest honor of the University of California); he graduated with a B.A. in Physiological Psychology in 1977, Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Yamane studied medicine at the University of California at San Francisco and received his Medical Degree in 1981. His interest in community medicine, preventive health, and medical program planning and administration led him to a Masters Degree in Public Health at the University of California at Berkeley. Specialty training in internal medicine was completed in 1984 at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. In September 1984, Dr. Yamane became a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Yamane was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 1996. Dr. Yamane has been in clinical practice in Mercer County since July 1984. He was …honored in 2012 and 2013 as a “Top Doctor” with “US News and World Reports,” was listed by the Castle Connolly Guide as one of the “Top Doctors in the New York Metropolitan Area” each year from 2001 to 2013, and was listed as a “Top Doctor” with “Inside Jersey” magazine in 2011 and 2012 (2013 issue pending).
