Dr. Navin Robert Pinto, MD

Navin Pinto, MD, treats patients with all types of childhood cancers and blood disorders. He has a special interest in the treatment of sarcomas, solid tumors and neuroblastoma.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Pinto conducts research focused on improving cure rates and reducing long-term side effects from treatment. He is studying how variations in certain genes can affect whether a patient is sensitive or resistant to chemotherapy. These findings could lead to more personalized therapy for patients.
Dr. Pinto was the recipient of several University of Chicago awards during his residency and fellowship training. He was recently honored with an American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award (2010-2011), a St. Baldrick’s Foundation fellowship (2010-2012), and the Cancer Research Foundation Young Investigator Award (2011-2013).
