Dr. Peter James Millett, MD

Dr. Millett is the director of the orthopaedic shoulder program at the coveted and prestigious Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO and is considered one of the country’s leading experts on shoulder problems and repair.
He uses advanced open and arthroscopic surgery to restore damaged joints from sports-related injuries and degenerative conditions, as well as uses advanced technology to treat damaged ligaments and bones. Dr. Millett is also an expert in complex and revision shoulder surgery–including total shoulder replacement and reverse shoulder replacement surgery.
Dr. Peter J. Millett is a native of Pennsylvania. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Scranton and his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. He also studied as an orthopedic specialist research scholar at the University of Cambridge in England. While in residency training at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, Dr. Millett was twice awarded the …Lewis Clark Wagner Award for excellence in orthopaedic research.
He earned his subspecialty, fellowship training, at the prestigious Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO where he currently has his practice.
As a sports medicine specialist, Dr. Millett has treated professional athletes from the NFL, MLB, NBA, X-games, and the Olympics. He has served as a consultant to the US Ski Team and the Montreal Canadiens.
