I was born and raised in Pakistan. I came to the United States for post-graduate training after medical school in 1996. I did my general surgery training at Yale. I then went on to do a Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. I was in private practice in Indiana for three years before I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008.
I have a special interest in colon and rectal diseases like cancer, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease and incontinence. I am a member of American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, and the Yale Surgical Society.
