I was born in Mexico City, attended the National University School of Medicine and graduated as a Physician in 1970. I came to the United States in 1971 and studied General Psychiatry at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Then moved to New Orleans and studied Child Psychiatry at Tulane University of New Orleans. After graduation I became a Tulane Associate Professor and director of children and adolescent units at the psychiatric hospital in Mandeville.
I have 2 sons that were born in New Orleans, they are my pride and joy. I moved back to Mexico City and was in private practice for 7 years. After the major earthquake we relocated to Lubbock Texas in the Summer of 1986.
During that time, I was Assistant Director of the Psychiatric Unit at Methodist Hospital, then I was hired by Saint Mary’s Hospital to develop and direct “The Adolescent Center” I had a private practice and was a consultant as well. I left Lubbock at the end of 2005 and came to South Texas and had my private …practice and admitted patients to the Edinburg Psychiatric Hospital. I moved to New Orleans and joined “Alamo Mental Health” at the end of 2012. I became part of “Life Stance” on February of 2021. During my time in Lubbock, I participated in the Masters Program of Theology, extension program offered by Loyola University of New Orleans. I chose Pastoral Studies. I see my practice of Psychiatry as my ministry.
