At a very young age, Dr. Todd Schlifstein knew he wanted to be a medical doctor. He started volunteer hospital work at the age of 12. By 15 years old he was doing medical research at the University of Iowa on Bone Marrow Transplants and then at Boston University studying lasers to evaluate velocity of blood flow during the following year. Coming from a very close and supportive family, this helped him and his brothers towards many great achievements. His older brother started medical school at the age of 19. His younger brother graduated from Wharton business school, was an all …-american wrestler, award winning artist, trumpet and guitar player. During his high school years, Dr. Todd Schlifstein was on the wrestling team, played baseball, soccer, football, and played trumpet in the band. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Cornell University He majored in Clinical Nutrition, as he thought nutrition is something every medical doctor should know. During his Residency at NYU Medical Center, he was Chief Resident in 1999. He stayed on the Faculty at NYU School of Medicine and was an Attending Physician at NYU Medical Center until 2008.
