I am a board certified psychiatrist with over ten years of experience helping people address a multitude of mental health and wellness issues. I completed my training in psychiatry at Yale University, and I obtained specialty training in both psychosomatic medicine through Yale University and forensic psychiatry through New York University.
As a board certified %u201Cpsychosomaticist%u201D (diplomate in Psychosomatic Medicine, also called %u201CConsultation Liaison Psychiatry%u201D), I have special qualifications in providing psychiatric care for people with concurrent medical illnesses. I have a unique interest in the interplay of sleep, pharmacology, and mental health, and I regularly participate in sleep-medicine conferences.
My experience includes working with people in psychiatric crises as former medical director of Adult Inpatient Psychiatry at the Hospital of St. Raphael (New Haven, CT) and as a current attending at the Bellevue Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program …(CPEP, or psychiatric emergency room). My outpatient experience includes treating a large number of students in college and graduate school through the Yale Mental Hygiene Clinic and the NYU Wellness Exchange.
My experience with young adults in college mental health treatment has lead me to become a councilor to the New York chapter of the American Society of Adolescent Psychiaitry.
I am passionate about teaching. As a former faculty member at Yale, I led weekly seminars for the medical students on topics including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, and pharmacologic treatment. For psychiatric residents, I led seminars on pharmacologic treatment of depressive disorders.
