Dr. John Louis Pfenninger, MD

Dr. John L. Pfenninger is a Board Certified Family Doctor serving the Midland Michigan area for more than 30 years. Dr. Pfenninger is experienced in Removal of Skin Growths and Cancers, Chemical Peels and Skin Biopsy. Dr. Pfenninger performs procedures in-office, significantly cutting costs compared to hospital procedural costs (on average 50% – 90% savings). He was the Director of Obstetrics and Procedural Training at the MidMichigan Medical Center Residency Pogram from 1977 – 1989. At this point in time he entered in to private practice. Dr. Pfenninger has published 6 medical text books and numerous medical articles, earning multiple awards for his contribution to the Midland Community. He is a professional member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians and the Michigan State Medical Society. Dr. John Pfenninger was also awarded The Robert E. Bowsher Best Teacher Award, the Colposcopy Recognition Award and the Excellence in Teaching …Award. Dr. Pfenninger also founded The National Procedures Institute (NPI) in 1989. NPI conducts more than 200 courses a year throughout the US for physicians, residents, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Dr. Pfenninger taught dermatologic procedures in Singapore, Taiwan, South Africa, Italy, and the Netherlands, as well as the no-scalpel vasectomy technique in South Africa. In addition to the courses provided by the NPI in which he founded in 1989, Dr. Pfenninger was invited to speak at numerous universities, national scientific assemblies and at the world congress of family physicians (WONCA).
