Dr. DeVitis is originally from Seattle, Washington. Dr. DeVitis completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. After completion of his medical degree at St. George’s University, Dr. DeVitis’ surgical training took place at Spectrum Health/Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has a passion for taking care of the entire patient, which inspired him to complete a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care prior to starting at Arizona Community Specialists.Dr. DeVitis obtained board certification in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He has mentored many junior residents and medical students while in training and plans to continue educating student doctors while in practice. He is a current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor as well.Dr. DeVitis was drawn to Tucson to be closer to his parents and siblings who reside in the area. He has specific interests in large hernia repairs, abdominal wall …reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery, and robotic assisted surgery. In his spare time, he enjoys many activities including, hiking, road/mountain biking, climbing, exploring everything Tucson has to offer, and travel.Participating in most major health care plans, Dr. DeVitis is accepting new patients. He is associated with Tucson Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Rincon Health Campus.
