Dr. Juan C. Paramo is an attending surgeon in surgical oncology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center Comprehensive Cancer Center. With 20 years of experience, Dr. Paramo is an expert surgeon in the treatment of complex cases of breast cancer, melanoma and thyroid cancer, as well as cancers of the liver, colon, esophagus and stomach. He is also an expert in performing head and neck surgery, endocrine surgery, and minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery to treat gastrointestinal cancers.
Dr. Paramo is a graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia. He completed his residency in general surgery, as well as a fellowship in surgical oncology at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Actively engaged in teaching, Dr. Paramo is an associate clinical professor of surgery at both Florida International University and Nova Southeastern University. He is also the associate program director of the surgery residency program at Mount Sinai Medical Center. …
Dr. Paramo is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the International College of Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology. He is also the chair of the Cancer Committee at Mount Sinai Medical Center, as well as the Florida chair to the Commission on Cancer.
Extensively published in all fields of oncologic surgery, Dr. Paramo has authored publications on breast cancer, thyroid cancer, endocrine surgery, melanoma and gastrointestinal cancers, including liver, colon, gastric and esophageal cancers.
