Originally from New York City, Dr. Pico completed his education at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York, earning a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree in 1993. He then completed an internship and residency at Brook Army Medical Center, Texas, as a U.S. Army officer in 1996. Since graduating from residency, Dr. Pico has practiced medicine all over the world before coming back to Brooke Army Medical Center to serve as Chief of the Internal Medicine Clinic. From Brooke Army Medical Center he was sent to Bosnia and Iraq as a field surgeon during several combat tours. It was a fast-paced combat tour. His motto was “Bring good medicine to bad places”, giving the best possible care to our soldiers despite adverse and hostile environments. Upon completion of active duty, he moved back to the great city of San Antonio where he accepted a position with Northeast Internal Medical Associates.
