Dr. Kyle Edward Swanson, MD

Meet Dr. Kyle SwansonDr. Swanson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with an added qualification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Swanson grew up in Lake Tahoe and pursued his medical degree at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, then completed his orthopedic training in San Francisco. After San Francisco, Dr. Swanson entered the Army Medical Corp, providing orthopedic care to active duty troops in Ft. Steward, Georgia. Dr. Swanson was deployed with the 249th Combat Support Hospital to Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom IV. To continue his education and hone his skills even further, he went on to complete the Lake Tahoe Sports Medicine Fellowship because of its reputation for skilled faculty and high volume of sports medicine cases. Dr. Swanson is now a faculty member of the Lake Tahoe Sports Medicine Fellowship, joining a dynamic group of physicians providing cutting-edge treatment for patients. Dr. Swanson specializes in sports medicine, performing …arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee, and ankle and reverse-total shoulder surgeries. Experienced in joint replacements for the hip, knee, and shoulder, Dr. Swanson is also certified in using the Mako SmartRobotics™ system for total knee, total hip, and partial knee joint replacement procedures.Dr. Swanson, a U.S. Ski Team physician, provides care to patients of all ages, athletic abilities, and personalized goals for activity.
