Dr. Thomas Gregory Harris, MD

Dr. Harris is the newest addition to the Congress Medical Associates. His practice centers around the lower extremity and in particular, ailments related to the foot and the ankle. He is also an associate professor at the UCLA-Harbor Medical Center where he is the chief of foot and ankle surgery and teaches residents and students. Dr. Harris received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) and then attended Georgetown University in Washington DC to obtain his medical degree. He then progressed to Hershey, Pennsylvania where he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Penn State University. In residency, Dr. Harris received numerous awards for safety, patient care and teaching. Dr. Harris finished his foot and ankle surgery training at the Balance Orthopedic and UCLA Harbor fellowship program in Long Beach, California. In his clinical practice, Dr. Harris is active in ongoing research and is the managing director of the Balance …Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Fellowship Program. He is also a member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society where he serves on the post-graduate education and training committee. Dr. Harris has specific interests in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery as well as sports and traumatic injuries to the lower extremity. His surgical expertise includes a minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair, endoscopic treatment for plantar fasciitis, and multiple arthroscopic approaches to the ankle and hindfoot. Dr. Harris also specializes in surgery for hallux valgus (bunions), hallux rigidus (arthritis) and flat feet.
